Focusing on the history of the Straits, the panel will discuss complexities of heritage, notions of belonging, and strategies of mapping. This involves an approach to Southeast Asia through underlying indigenous patterns, which will stretch the limits of ingrained westernised cultural visions. The Straits will be considered as an ever-changing environment that continues to profoundly influence our existence.
