The exhibition In-Process spotlights the artistic approach, methods and processes of 27 emerging 3D Designers. Amidst the challenges of COVID-19, these Year-2 and -3 NAFA students have rigorously incorporated Design Thinking attitudes of embracing ambiguity, learning to empathise, seeking opportunities and prototyping their ideas to produce 18 innovative projects.
In-Process comprises a series of design explorations and development in the form of drawings, handmade models and digital scenarios. They exemplify the different conceptual phases of design, demonstrating what is often unseen from the public eye — the time, efforts and attempts at approaching and realising design briefs.
The exhibition includes highlights such as Wobble Stool by Nguyen Danh Linh, a convertible stool that encourages users to stay active when working from home; Plié by Kamilia Azzara, a dynamic landscape design for the National Museum of Singapore inspired by natural patterns and geometric compositions; and Reflection by Clara Devina Prasetyo, a set of playable jewelry inspired by the cityscape of Singapore, the tiny island that never sleeps.
