In Search of My Shangri-La《我的桃花源》A Solo Exhibition by Wee Shoo Leong 黃樹良

In Search of My Shangri-La features the recent works of veteran and renowned Singapore artist Wee Shoo Leong 黃樹良 (b. 1958, Singapore). Despite the past two years of the pandemic, Shoo Leong did not stop painting. Instead, he devoted himself to creating — through his distinct vision and masterful brushwork — 25 unique landscapes and still life paintings.

After over four decades of exploration in the two genres, Shoo Leong has constructed an ethereal utopia with a blissful mind and soul, and as his artistic compositions continue to reflect a tranquil landscape, we cordially invite you to join us in search of your own Shangri-La.

Born in 1958, Wee graduated from the Nanyang Academy of Fine Arts in 1979, with a major in Oil Painting. In 1984, he won the prestigious UOB Painting of the Year, followed by a silver medal from Salon 85 in Paris in 1985, and the 1st Commonwealth Foundation Fellowship, London in 1986.

His works are seen in auctions internationally and are in the permanent collections of Agung Rai Museum of Art (Bali, Indonesia), Nordmann Rassmann GMBH & Co. (Hamburg, Germany), The Istana (Singapore), Singapore Art Museum, National Art Gallery (Singapore), the Ministry of Foreign Affairs (Singapore), Ministry of Finance (Singapore), Citibank Singapore, Chenter Foundation (USA), and Resorts World Sentosa (Singapore).
