In the Shadow of Trees is filmmaker Chen-Hsi Wong’s first solo photography show. Responding to the production shoot of her feature film Innocents (2012), she continued to investigate the vegetative landscape, influenced by economies of decoration, construction, performance and the un-intervened narrative. The lush images of landscape and light that compose this series signal her exploration of photography in an empirical mode, and her interest in the space between the essential forms of the natural world and the process by which they are inscribed.
