Intermission (2026) by Esmond Loh, 60 x 80 cm, Acrylic on Canvas
In Esmond Loh’s solo exhibition Intermission, the artist explores the pauses that emerge within the ongoing performance of everyday life. Set against a backdrop of rural and urban landscapes that appear ambiguous yet intimately familiar, this series of new works conjures figurative scenes of individuals caught between roles. Within such precious pockets of time, in a society shaped by perpetual momentum and productivity, Loh draws our attention to the suspense that envelops these private vignettes of rest, waiting, or escape.
