Discover the visionary world of one of the most revolutionary forces in fashion at the landmark retrospective showcase Iris van Herpen: Sculpting the Senses, which marks the iconic Dutch designer’s first-ever solo exhibition in Asia.
Originally hailing from Musée des Arts décoratifs in Paris, France, the exhibition invites you to get up close to over 140 exquisite looks and accessories from van Herpen which showcase how she has redefined haute couture with cutting-edge technology and innovation.
More than just a fashion exhibition, Iris van Herpen: Sculpting the Senses will also display her designs alongside natural history specimens and contemporary artworks from around the world, including new local and regional content. Spanning nine distinct themes, they chart the various disciplines she has been inspired by throughout her life – from dance, nature, art, and science, to architecture and philosophy.
Worn by renowned figures such as Beyoncé, Lady Gaga, Björk, Scarlett Johansson, Fan Bingbing, and Naomi Campbell, van Herpen’s sculptural designs combine traditional hand craftsmanship with advanced technologies such as 3D printing, algorithmic design, and laser cutting, to shape garments that embody the complexity and fluidity of the natural world.
