Element Art Space is pleased to present Jia Peng’s first solo exhibition at the gallery, ‘No Phase.’ This presentation consisting of 10 works is a continuation of the artist’s ongoing exploration of concepts of time.
Humans today have an average lifespan of 30,000 days. This represents the life trajectories marked by a sequence of short and long-term events—sweetness and bitterness. For example, ’Invisible No. 23’ (2015) is rendered in white, black and grey to amplify the intangible sentiments like music transpires the high, middle and low of emotions.
Jia Peng (b. 1975, Beijing China) studied at Ecole Supérieure d’Art d’Avignon, France, became a full-time artist and part-time lecturer at China Central Academy of Fine Arts and Guangzhou Academy of Fine Arts where he teaches painting. He is also a member of La Maison des Artistes (MDA).
