Lakar lilin (Wax drawn) is an exhibition to showcase master batik artists in Singapore namely, Sarkasi Said, Sujak Rahman, Sadali Musbah, Tumadi Patri and Kamal Dollah.
These artists have devoted years to the art and craft of batik-painting. Each practiced independently and developed their own distinct style over years of artistic practice, this will be the first time they are gathered to exhibit together. Their practice reflects diversity of art practice in a multicultural Singapore.
This art exhibition is organised by Kamal Arts (a non-profit organisation) and Wisma Geylang Serai Precinct Department. Held at Kamal Arts Gallery located at the National Arts Council (NAC) Art space at Wisma Geylang Serai.
This exhibition aims to encourage art appreciation; to educate and promote the art of batik-painting in Singapore. Artworks on display are for sale by artists.
