Tokyo-born NYC-based video artist Karyn Nakamura synthesizes the sheen from the small flat plates that form the outer covering of fish in Singapore’s waterways throughout the city, with the scaling heights of Singapore’s slick skyscrapers amidst the rapid cosmopolitan rush. From Singapore’s water margins and catchments to the architecture, heritage and modernity of Singapore’s civic district, Lattice becomes a hallucinatory and precise visual essay revelatory of ecosystems thriving alongside the urban pulse of Singapore.
