Embroidery—incorporating motifs from traditional and contemporary embroidery—is the medium through which the artist expresses and visualises time as a thing that can be physically handled. Each stitch represents a moment passed, an instant filled with sentiment. The building of stitches becomes a representation of time passing, a recording of the maker’s thoughts and emotions. The final work is a physical manifestation of time—a time object. Like a diary, it documents a period in the maker’s history, a story shared and yet withheld.
