Manolo Valdés at Gardens by the Bay

Manolo Valdés’ Pamela Hat at the Meadows @ Gardens by the Bay

After a successful showcase along Orchard Boulevard, six larger-than-life works by Manolo Valdés will now be hosted by the premier horticultural destination until April 2018. Valdés’ sculptures are a natural fit for such a lush and vivacious environment. Adorned with intricate headdresses of butterflies, orchids, and seashells, they enhance the natural elements present in the immaculately designed Gardens. Starting from the Meadow, one can take a walk along the West Lawn and Waterfront Promenade to soak in these graceful and majestic female heads.

With his body of work displayed in the most reputable museums and venues from the Metropolitan Museum of Art, New York, and the Peggy Guggenheim Collection, Venice, to historical outdoor spaces such as the luxurious Place Vendome and Chatsworth House, UK, internationally acclaimed Manolo Valdés has fascinated the world with his elegant and timeless sculptures of elongated women’s heads. With inspirations from legendary classical masters the likes of Velázquez, Rembrandt and Goya, Valdés has conceptualized his own unique artistic style imbued with a rich sense of history and tradition.
