“Markus Klinko: Bowie, The Heavens” is a virtual exhibition of photographs made in New York, 2001-2002 – capturing David Bowie in a moment marked by restraint, control, and deliberate distance.
Viewed 10 years after his passing, the exhibition resists myth-making or tribute. Instead, it returns to a period of clarity and composure, allowing the images to hold their ground and speak on their own terms.
The exhibition centres on images created around Bowie’s Heathen era, alongside later portraits that reflect a consistent authority across shifting contexts.
