Memories of Singapore Chinatown (回望牛车水) is a 20-minute documentary produced as a precious archive of history through the eyes of our local oil painters, Choo Keng Kwang, Chua Mia Tee and Ang Ah Tee, as well as the late photographer Yip Cheong Fun, all of whom have captured Chinatown scenes from the 60s.
The documentary introduces the then Chinatown livelihood reflected in the various artists’ practices. The documentary is in Mandarin and dialect, with English subtitles.
