Sarkasi Tzee Said is an internationally acclaimed Batik artist and a revered Malay community leader. His son, Ika Zahri Sarkasi is also a well-known community artist and arts educator. Both artists create batik art using traditional techniques from Java, now a dying technique that deserves conservation.
This exhibition will put the spotlight on batik art as an intangible cultural heritage of the regional Malay world. Come, snap, pose and reflect on the Malay cultural experience.
