Modern and Contemporary Southeast Asian Art

Larasati Auctioneers is honoured to present its 25th Anniversary Auction, a special sale dedicated to Modern and Contemporary Southeast Asian Art, taking place on 22 August 2025 at The Royal Plaza on Scotts, Singapore.

A major highlight of this celebratory auction is a masterful composition by Singaporean pioneer Cheong Soo Pieng, titled Chinese Girl (1976). This exquisite work embodies Soo Pieng’s distinctive artistic language—one that harmoniously bridges tradition and modernity, East and West.

Held in conjunction with the 60th anniversary of Singapore and the 80th anniversary of Indonesia’s independence, this landmark event will also feature works by renowned figures in Southeast Asian art. These including Dutch masters Isaac Israels and Auke Sonnega, whose portrayals of regional life remain iconic, alongside Indonesian modernists such as Mochtar Apin and the acclaimed realist Dullah.
