Mr Nai Swee Leng’s ink paintings are well composed and lively. With confident brushstrokes and expert use of the Chinese ink medium, Nai Swee Leng paints playful looking birds and forges an energetic ambience in his creations.
Mr Nai Swee Leng was already a gifted student of ink master Fan Chang Tien before attending the Nanyang Academy of Fine Arts and graduating in 1966. Fan was a private student of Wang Geyu who was in turn a disciple of Wu Changshuo (1844-1927), a leading figure of the famed Shanghai School in Chinese Painting.
