Join us as we celebrate our nation’s 59th birthday with the illumination of five historical and culturally significant landmarks around the Bras Basah.Bugis precinct and watch them light up in the National Flag colours of red and white.
For this year’s edition, Armenian Church, Central Fire Station, St Joseph’s Church, and Stamford Walkway will join the tribute for the light up. These landmarks – three of which are National Monuments – take us on a journey through our shared heritage that reminds us of our national identity, bonding the generations of the past, present and future. The swashes of red and white lights are an expression of our creative responses to our current times, an articulation of our dreams and aspirations, and at the same time, remind us that our future paths are our own to blaze!
This year’s light-up will extend throughout the Singapore Night Festival until 7 September, aligning with the festival’s theme of the “Art of Play.” Inspired by the precinct’s historical significance as the birthplace of some of Singapore’s first schools, the Singapore Night Festival will explore the concept of play and childhood.
