This April will see the launch of a new platform by key industry players to give young emerging artists a leg up into the pop music scene.
Called NEXT, this platform is an initiative of the Sing50 Fund which promotes and preserves Singapore’s music heritage. To date, the Sing50 Fund has supported initiatives such as the Singapore Rhapsodies concert and the ICON series; both concerts celebrating young stars of today and Singaporean icons who have left an impact on Singapore’s music scene.
Beyond being just a concert, NEXT is a rallying call to garner support for new and emerging talents. It is co-organised by arts and creative non-profit, The RICE Company Ltd (TRCL) and its subsidiary Global Cultural Alliance Ltd together with leading entertainment company Music & Movement (M&M) Pte Ltd and one of Asia’s largest concert promoter and event organiser, UnUsUaL Pte Ltd.
Comprising 21 individual acts, NEXT will feature emerging pop talents such as LEW, Lin Si Tong and The Apex Project. Some of these artistes such as Lin Kai and Kenny Khoo will be featuring songs from their latest EP.
NEXT is held at MAX Atria @ Singapore EXP on Saturday, 29 April 2017 from 11 am, at the Singapore Expo. 21 music acts will take place over five halls, with the first show starting at 11 am and the last starting at 8.30 pm. Tickets are priced at $20 per music act and are available for purchase via SISTIC, www.sistic.com.sg from 8 April 2017.
