In his solo exhibition No Man’s Land, Rifqi Amirul Rosli showcases a diverse series of works that finds us suspended between undisturbed surfaces and explosive lines.
Presented in this exhibition is a series of the same namesake. As you approach these works, iridescent portals seemingly fade in and out, glistening along side the bobbles of light reflected on the work’s surface. Almost hypnotically, this series draws us into a momentary pause as sweeps of colour and texture cut through the still black background.
From his bold and textural use of materials to the bursts of intricate lines held in limbo behind white frames, this exhibition sees Rifqi approaching his exploration into the construction of personal and speculative states – allowing viewers the opportunity to take in and observe the invisible structures of power that come with the lines and borders we see in our daily lives, but often miss.
