At Waterloo Centre, artists take over pockets of space between the residential and commercial. A structure stretching across the plaza is wrapped in black. A cave is constructed using objects discarded by residents. A painter plays with the ageing textures of a building’s architecture. 12 artists. 12 new proposals for encountering space.
Leading up to this showcase, the Noise Mentees were given the opportunity to set the artistic direction of their work, as opposed to producing works for particular sets of themes, affording them greater and more meaningful responsibility throughout the mentorship period.
