Ko Z, Life 2, Acrylic on canvas, 91 x 193 cm, 2005
Ko Z was born in the Shan State, Myanmar, but is 100% Kachin blood, all his relatives live in the Kachin State and he is imbued with his Kachin identity. For Ko Z art does not have to be connected to ethnic identity. However, his identity has a strong influence on his artistic practice.
