Make a difference to the lives of persons with disabilities (PwDs) through design. Propose an innovative product that will make their life better – and stand to win cash prizes totalling over S$10,000. Join Designathon 2017 (18 and 25 Feb), organised by DesignSingapore Council.
Meet and collaborate with talented people like yourself to design solutions that will help people with intellectual disability, autism spectrum disorder, sensory (sight or hearing) disability or physical disability. Designathon 2017, open to participants aged 18 and above, promises to be exciting and thought-provoking. Three steps to join the challenge:
Step 1: Register for the Info Session
Find out more about Designathon 2017 at by registering for the Info Session on 20 Dec 2016 (Tue evening). Hear from experts, discuss the challenges, meet other passionate innovators and form your teams. Click here to register. Should you have queries, send an email to: Jamie_LOH_from.TP@mci.gov.sg.
Step 2: Send a design proposal
Now that you have a team and an idea, register your interest to join Designathon 2017. Download the submission template here, complete it and send it to submission@padang.co by 22 January, 2017, 2359hrs. This submission is your team’s official entry to Designathon 2017.
Do note that by signing up, you must attend all sessions of Designathon 2017 (10, 18 and 25 Feb). There may also be a prototyping workshop for you (prior to Designathon 2017). Further details will be made available. Closing date: Sunday, 22 Jan 2017, 2359hrs
Step 3: Attend Workshop (Pre-Designathon)
Meet other designers, developers, entrepreneurs, students, healthcare workers and social service providers to discuss your proposed concept for the challenge. The workshop will have a presentation on insights into the lives of PwDs.

Step 4: Join Designathon 2017
Develop design solutions for PwDs over two separate days – and stand to win cash prizes. Participants (in teams of up to five members) will be supplied tools and materials to build prototypes.
