Squeezy Lamp by Edmund Zhang, Wallpaper* Next Generation Singapore Designer
Wallpaper* is on the lookout for its Next Generation Singapore Designer for its Handmade 2019 exhibition. The competition, which is open to all qualified Singapore citizens and permanent residents wherever they are in the world, will close on 30 June 2018. (More details in the Annex.)
Wallpaper* is extending the invitation to Singapore designers, as part of an ongoing partnership with the DesignSingapore Council (Dsg).
Talent from the fields of architecture, fashion, product design, graphic design, furniture design and industrial design, who have graduated in the last five years, are welcome to submit their best concept proposals.
For the submission entry, Wallpaper* is asking designers to send in portfolios of their best work and proposals for the redesign or re-imagination of an everyday object. This is an item that may have been regarded as an unappreciated thing of beauty or dismissed as an aesthetically overlooked, under-used functional classic.
Only one Next Generation Singapore Designer will be selected to work with Wallpaper*. As part of the winner’s package, Wallpaper* will pair the winner with a manufacturer of Wallpaper’s choice to create a prototype of an original design tailored to the Handmade 2019 theme.
