Open Studio: Gemma Kearney

Gemma Kearney is an Irish visual artist who is currently on residency with Grey Projects. Gemma’s practice is predominantly sculptural and painting based. She holds a first class honors degree in Fine Art from the CIT Crawford College of Art and Design. Her most recent show was a solo exhibition at TACTIC gallery. Cork, Ireland.

Gemma’s current work explores ideas around belief ideology, personal mythology and the spaces where opposing ideological standpoints exist. She is interested in how these systems are utilized to inform ones methods for navigating life. Whilst on residency, Gemma will spend her time researching these ideas further, whilst using her most recent sculptural body of work as a starting point to produce an artwork in the form of a printed document.
