PAssionArts Festival 2016, a nationwide community arts festival returns for the fifth year. With the theme “Towards A Brighter Singapore” (迈向更美好的新加坡), residents and youths will use arts to celebrate National Day and build a stronger national identity.
The main highlight of the PassionArts Festival is the inaugural LumiArt Display of larger-than-life Chinese chess pieces that are built, painted and decorated by more than 500 youths and residents. The LumiArt Display of Chinese chess pieces represents the co-creaters’ aspirations of using arts to imbue and preserve our traditional cultural heritage for future generations while the nation boldly takes the first step towards SG100.
