For Boedi Widjaja, translation is not only a linguistic process. It is a lived experience.
Born into an ethnic Chinese family in Java and later making Singapore his home, the artist has spent much of his life navigating different languages, histories and cultural systems. Rather than seeking a single, fixed meaning, his practice explores what happens in the spaces between them.
In Peach Blossom Society :: 这里没有桃花, language, symbols and codes are continually transformed as they move across different forms. The exhibition reflects on how meaning shifts, adapts and takes on new possibilities as it travels.
