The Institute of Contemporary Arts Singapore presents Phase #41: Exercise no control, an exhibition which represents art in various media by final students from BA Fine Arts.
The exhibition presents over 40 works in 2 themes, ‘confrontation’ and ‘comfort’, developed from the students’ research and practices over the past three years and explores divergent approaches to making and thinking about art. The two approaches to art-making are explored through paintings, sculptures, videos and installations.
Phase #41: Exercise no control is a title that is inspired by the students’ experiences at LASALLE which evokes ideas about discipline and experimentation, as well as a sense of inclusivity and mischief. It also expresses the students’ commitment to questioning processes and structures that shape art education.
