AC43 gallery is pleased to present the first solo exhibition of Singapore artist Ng Geok Seng. Titled after the classical 1874 piano suite by Russian composer Modest Mussorgsky, the show celebrates the artist’s lifetime dedication to education in the arts encapsulated in over 20 oil and acrylic paintings in varied sizes, with the smallest, most intricate painting of Singapore River scene being a mere 15 x 15 cm. Ng’s work, which covers landscape, still life and nude, are characterised by bold, lyrical brushwork, rich colour impasto and skilful palette knife sculpting.
Born in 1968, Ng Geok Seng received his Bachelor of Arts in Fine Art (Painting) from LASALLE SIA College of the Arts in 2001 and has been a full-time art educator since 2001. He has participated in several group exhibitions over the years, including the Singapore Art Fair’91, The Nude in Art Exhibition (1993) and Travelogue 2001 The Winston Oh Travel Award Drawing Exhibition.
