Planet of Possibility

Sow Zixuan, aged 10, from Cerebral Palsy Alliance Singapore School, is “Super Boccia Banana”. Zixuan, who loves bananas, dreams of becoming a professional Boccia player someday. A ground-up arts movement supported by Lien Foundation and National Arts Council brings together four special education schools, youth volunteers and kids-at-risk from Lengkok Bahru in a first of its kind cross-community collaboration to produce an art show that will be co-presented with Objectifs from 18 June to 17 July 2016.

Superhero Me: The Special Edition presents Planet of Possibility, an experiential art show for children and the young-at-heart to make a stand for a more inclusive Singapore through socially engaged art.

The art show involves more than 60 children and youths aged 4 – 21 years old. They include the first batch of graduates from Lien Foundation’s Circle of Care Programme, students from Pathlight School’s Artist Development Programme, preschoolers from AWWA Kindle Garden (Singapore’s first inclusive preschool), Cerebral Palsy Alliance Singapore School and MINDS Lee Kong Chian Gardens School.

Work on the exhibition began in March 2016, and will continue over the course of three months under the guidance of a group of young artists and volunteers. A participating child’s journey involves developing a sense of creative confidence through crafting his or her Superhero identity and costume and then working together as a team to create various forms of artwork for the show.

Venue: Objectifs Centre for Photography and Film, 155 Middle Road S188977

Time: Tuesday to Saturday, 12pm – 7pm, Sunday 12pm – 4pm
Closed on Mondays and public holidays

When: 18 May - 17 Jul 2016,
