Pop-Up Noise: The Great Singapore Replay (TGSR) is a platform for up-and-coming young musicians to share their reimagined Singapore classic hits with the public.
Members of the public were invited to vote for their favourite class hits from a curated list of 25 popular tunes from the 1960s to 2000s in June. Close to 16,000 votes were received from the public for the selection of the top 10 Singapore classic hits to be remade and brought to life through collaborations between emerging and established home-grown artists.
Evoking a shared nostalgia for music from yesteryears, TGSR culminates in a final showcase at Clarke Quay Central on 9 September 2017, where our young music talents will take to the stage with their reimagined Singapore classic hits.
From 4pm onwards, audiences can look forward to hearing the original compositions by their favourite emerging artists, who will be playing a 20-minute set each. They are Debbi Koh, Umar Sirhan, Theodora, Jasmine Sokko, JAWN, Joie Tan, Shak’thiya, The Betts, Spacedays, and .gif.
To wrap up the night of celebrating our young talents, TGSR: The Replay Hour is the special segment not to be missed! From 9pm onwards, each emerging artist will do a live performance of the remade songs which they have been working with the established artists to create.
