Step into the captivating world of opera with “Queens and Divas of the Bel Canto”, the third instalment of the concert series “OPERA 101 concert series”. With the support from the Embassy of Italy Singapore, the show series is proudly presented by Lirica Arts, and especially designed to ignite curiosity and deepen appreciation for this timeless art form.
Following last year’s immensely popular sell-out show “Puccini- A Life in 7 Women”, this time curator Shridar Mani will be exploring the operas of the “bel canto” style of early 19th century opera, which marked one of the biggest revolutions in Italian opera with paradigm shifts that would change the genre and set the stage for what would become the standard repertory of the operatic canon today.
