On 17th of Jan 2015, Grassroot Advisor Mr Heng Chee How, Senior Minister of State (Prime Minister’s office) and MP for Whampoa SMC will be inaugurating the Rangoli Kudam-Pot Fantasy at 8.00 p.m. Blk 94 A, Whampoa Drive.
The programme is supported by Economic Development Board and Tourist Development Board. The artworks are undertaken under the supervision of Mrs Vijaya Mohan, Guinness World record holder and holder of 8 Singapore Book of records and International Rangoli artist.
Rangoli based designs will be featured on more than 1200 colourful and bright plastic Kudams (pots) of various sizes which will be adorned with gemstones and sequins and lit by small lamps.
A wide cross section of more than 1000 Singaporeans of all races and ages have taken part in this activity and include children, youth, the elderly, all the 4 races, business houses, religious institutions and a wide range of Singaporans from 50 to 60 organisations. There has been special focus on the elderly, the less privileged, the less fortunate, the handicapped and special needs persons to show that we are a caring and inclusive society.
More than 300 to 500 Kudams will be displayed along Serangoon Road and Little India and will form part of Art Week 2015.
