SAM Contemporaries 2 is the second edition of a biennial project by SAM, bringing together six artists across varying research interests, methods, and formats. Surveying bourgeoning currents in Singapore art, the exhibition revisits moments in local art developments that have been overlooked.
Supporting emerging practices and research with institutional resources, this exhibition will build upon collaborative processes that were established with the first. Making space for the temporal and processual, artists will work closely with SAM curators over an extended period of engagement to embark upon material explorations, deepen research trajectories and develop nascent projects.
