Earlier in 2017 Mestrom presented a bold, large-scale sculptural installation entitled The Bathers for Art Basel Hong Kong’s ‘Encounters’ section, curated by Alexie Glass-Kantor. Mestrom was the recipient of an Australia Council Grant, City of Melbourne Grant, several Arts Victoria Creation Grants, winner of the 2013 Art & Australia Award and the 2011 John Fries Memorial Prize, the NAVA Janet Holmes Artist Grant, the Siemens Post Graduate Fine Art Scholarship Award and an Australian Post Graduate Award for her PhD research. Her works are well represented in private and public collections, including the Art Gallery of NSW, Sydney, Monash University Museum of Art and Museum of Contemporary Art, Sydney.
