SEA Games Art Opening

Ouroboros, Nicola Anthony, 2015

As part of the 28th SEA Games Torch UP! Programme, a series of 30 light sculptures have been launched – including OUROBOROS, (pictured above), which was created using 10,000 ping pong balls, featuring the inscribed aspirations of 5000 people and the Singapore National Table Tennis team.

Created by local artists in collaboration with various communities, these 30 ‘community torches’ are displayed in 4 districts around Singapore, and the artists will have the honour of passing the Flame to the athletes and Mr Lawrence Wong, Minister of Culture, Community and Youth to begin the Torch Lighting Ceremony on 4th June 2015.

3.30pm: Carnival & gathering at OUROBOROS, Events Plaza Marina Bay

4 to 4.30pm: Nicola Anthony passes the SEA Games Torch to The Extraordinary Runners. Runners carry the Torch Flame, from ArtScience Museum to Promontory.

5.30pm to 6.30pm: Torch Light-up Ceremony, Promontory

6.30pm onwards: Torch Parade from Promontory to Events Plaza with Mr Lawrence Wong, Minister of Culture, Community and Youth.

Location of Ouroboros:
Marina Bay – Events Plaza, on the Waterfront, near Louis Vuitton. (Close to Casino taxi rank, or Bayfront MRT exit into ‘Shoppes By The Bay’).

When: 4 Jun 2015, 3.30pm
