iPRECIATION presents a compelling dialogue across cultures, histories, and artistic languages through selected works by four contemporary Chinese artists – Hung Liu, Wang Dongling, Cheung Yee, and Jin Jie. Their body of work collectively affirms the enduring relevance of materiality, gesture, and artistic innovation across time and space. While they draw extensively upon visual languages well-established in classical and modern Chinese traditions, their innovative approaches and compositional sensibilities set their work far apart from purely inherited forms.
Fueled by a genuine impulse to create and not merely reproduce, their practices further reveal how tradition is continually shaped by memory, identity, and the contingencies of the material.
