Organised by the National Arts Council’s Arts Resource Hub (ARH) in partnership with NTUC’s e2i (Employment and Employability Institute) and supported by NTUC’s UFSE (Freelancers and Self-Employed Unit), the first-of-its-kind #SGUnited Virtual Career Fair (VCF) for the arts and creative sector will be held from 22 February – 7 March 2021. Held online across two weeks, this #SGUnited VCF is the first initiative by ARH to compile and showcase job opportunities within the arts, creative and related sectors.
Following the reopening of more arts venues and activities in Phase 3, ARH and NTUC have rallied together various organisations who are hiring to participate in this VCF. NAC’s recent surveys with the arts freelancer community have reflected that more than 50% of them are still on the lookout for job opportunities. With the heavy blow that COVID-19 has dealt to the livelihood of many freelancers and Self-employed Persons (SEPs), the VCF is part of ARH’s efforts to aid artist and creative SEPs in their pursuit of a sustainable, fruitful career in the arts or adjacent industries.
Over 150 job vacancies from more than 20 employers including the National Gallery Singapore, Singapore Book Council, Apsara Asia and Nam Hwa Opera will be available at the VCF. Jobseekers can look forward to a variety of full-time, part-time, contract and freelance opportunities in the arts and creative sectors. A wide range of jobs in related industries, including Media, Advertising, Design and Education, will also be available, catering to arts and creative SEPs who boast a wide range of transferable skillsets.
