Singapore, Nguan, exhibitor of SIPF 2018
After a full decade of photo festivals, SIPF takes a step back to look within, to the community, and to the world around us. The theme for this year’s festival is Departing and Arriving, addressing the sense of identity, belonging and journey in artistic creation. It connects to the heart of Singapore, a nation built up of migrants over the last two centuries. As a young nation we question, search, trace and grow into being ”Singaporean” – a nationality of diverse religion, beliefs, and languages. The theme also points to global human movement, at the commonalities between the experiences and encounters of different societies around the world.
Ultimately, Departing and Arriving is open to creative interpretation, and SIPF seeks diverse proposals from the international community to submit their best portfolio for showcase in October 2020.
The Open Call is now open, and submissions can be made online at SIPF Register until 31 May 2020.
