Haridas Contemporary announces its reopening exhibition, Small Things Brought Together, as part of Singapore Gallery Month 2025. An opening reception will be held at its new space at Tanjong Pagar Distripark on 2 Aug 2025, 5 – 8 pm.
The exhibition features nine emerging and mid-career artists: Esmond Loh (b. 1995), Gerald Tay (b. 1992), Jeremy Sharma (b. 1977), Joey Leung (b. 1999), John Marie Andrada (b. 2001), Lucas Tan (b. 2000), Lyle Buencamino (b. 1978), Melissa Tan (b. 1989) & Minstrel Kuik (b. 1976). The group exhibition also presents itself as a preview of the gallery’s programming for 2025/26 with coming solo presentations of selected artists.
The phrase “small things brought together” o!en refers to the idea that great accomplishments are built upon a foundation of consistent effort and diligence in seemingly minuscule tasks. In 2023, Haridas Contemporary began its journey in a modestly sized gallery at CT Hub 2 and saw the successful launch of 10 exhibitions – including 7 solo presentations. Within its 2nd year of operation, it debuted on the art fair circuit at Art SG 2025 (Futures Sector). The move to Tanjong Pagar Distripark represents the gallery’s desire to mount bolder shows and demonstrate its resolve in ‘creating a home for emerging and mid-career Singapore and Singaporebased artists, while maintaining a satellite program with regional artists.’
The exhibition may serve as a reminder of the gallery’s journey, but more importantly, it represents the diverse practices of each artist, coming together under the gallery’s mission, in the hopes of accomplishing great things via a series of small things.
