Soh Chee Hui: Frolic

Frolic 弄雲 depicts our yearning for bodily interactions beneath our enclosed space of relationships. Lurking behind the mask of the Monkey King, we are but the witnesses to the paradoxes of our shifting desires.

Soh Chee Hui graduated from the Nanyang Academy of Fine Arts in Singapore in 1990 and received his Masters Degree in Fine Arts at the University of Birmingham, UK, in 1996. He was winner of the Singapore United Overseas Bank Painting of the Year in 1992 and was awarded the Silver Medal at the 7th Taiwan International Printmaking and Drawing Biennale in 2003. He was recipient of the Freeman Foundation Asian Fellowship in 2003 for residency at the Vermont Studio Center, USA.
