48 year old Singapore-based Shanghainese artist, Zhang Chunlei, graduated from the Suzhou University School of Arts in 1992. Influenced by the Lao Zhuang Philosophy, which advocates artistic beauty and equilibrium, Zhang’s painting technique involves creating a series of tightly woven dots and lines, weaving a purposeful formation with alternating colors. This concept of fusion of figurative and abstract elements results in a stunning work of art.
Zhang has received many artistic awards and accolades. His artworks are in private and public collections in Singapore, Malaysia and China. He is currently living in Singapore and his artistic practice spans between China and Singapore.”
