Spring Light is a solo exhibition by contemporary Chinese sculptor Cai Zhisong, featuring a curated selection of sculptural works that reflect the artist’s sustained engagement with material, form, and Eastern philosophical thought.
Recognised for his ability to merge traditional cultural symbolism with a refined contemporary sculptural language, Cai Zhisong’s practice has evolved with notable consistency and restraint. Spring Light brings together three key bodies of work — Homeland, Rose, and Reflection — each representing a mature phase of the artist’s practice and collectively articulating his long-standing inquiry into harmony, coexistence, and the idea of an inner homeland.
Central to the exhibition is Cai’s highly regarded Rose series. The rose has become one of the artist’s most recognisable sculptural motifs, symbolising beauty, emotional depth, and resilience. Executed with attention to surface, colour, and material balance, these works occupy a compelling space between fragility and permanence. For collectors, the Rose series represents a signature body of work that has demonstrated both aesthetic clarity and lasting relevance within Cai’s broader oeuvre.
