Khin Zaw Latt, Street Boy, Acrylic on canvas, 200 x 250 cm
In tropical Southeast Asia, the streets are open theatres where young and elderly, rich and poor, powerful and humble people play all the acts of their life story. Colourful flower markets, fragrant food markets and food stalls occupy the public space where the kids have their playground.
Street Stories encompasses paintings by two Burmese artists, Soe Soe and Khin Zaw Latt, who encapsulate in their paintings the simple beauty of Yangon cityscapes and the simple pleasures of childhood.
