(Sub)traction

Credit: The Fluxus House Gallery

(Sub)traction exploring some of the more intense parts of societal situations in human interactions resonates with the viewer and leads to the exploration of solutions. The permeation of boundaries is reinforced or weakened by the social relationships and experiences of individuals within the social structure, allowing us to better self-evaluate when dealing with social inequalities. When art confronts unfair opinion or criticism, the ability of the artwork itself to speak for us and refute some of the alleged issues is perhaps the main concern we should consider when creating art.
To allow the audience to reflect on some of the situations they have encountered in their social relationships and experiences. Bringing the work closer to the audience’s personal experiences allows them to appreciate the work from a first-hand perspective that resonates.

Venue:
THE FLUXUS HOUSE, 23 Teo Hong Road, Singapore 088332

When: 5 - 28 Jan 2023, 10am - 8pm
