Unfolding across photography, video, archives, photobooks, installation, and AI-generated imagery, Subtropical Signals offers multiple perspectives on contemporary Taiwanese life, where the world’s most advanced semiconductor industry coexists with generations-old pilgrimage traditions, and where the personal and the historical are inseparable.

These are works that emerge from intimate spaces: family relationships, women’s experiences, local landscapes, and quiet everyday encounters. Together, they trace something larger, the way history persists not only as record, but as lived presence.
