Angelo Tabije’s characters are garbed most theatrically as stars of their own stage/canvas calling insistently for an audience. With skeletal and/or mechanical accoutrements accompanied by dramatic drapery and floral adornment, his specimens of physical perfection have incorporated additional biological and engineering enhancements to propel them to supra-optimal heights. The flourish of Tabije’s superhuman cyborgs underline the proposition: art is artifice.
