On the occasion of NTU CCA Singapore’s 4th anniversary, this symposium brings together the exhibiting artists, curators, and scholars from the region to expand on the subjects approached by the works. Re-evaluating Asian modernities, the show looks at history and political narratives through moving-image. Each session is thought to explore deeper the artists’ processes and approaches by a structured conversation consisting of lectures, artist presentations, and moderated discussions.
Speakers include Hyunjin Kim, curator and writer; Professor Kenneth Dean, Head, Department of Chinese Studies, National University of Singapore; Dr David Teh, curator, writer, and researcher at National University of Singapore; Dr Roger Nelson, Postdoctoral Fellow at Nanyang Technological University, School of Art, Design and Media / NTU CCA Singapore; Dr June Yap, independent curator; Dr May Adadol Ingawanij, Co-Director at Centre for Research and Education in Arts and Media Doctoral Programme, University of Westminster; and Dr Clare Veal, Lecturer, MA Asian Art Histories, LASALLE College of the Arts, Singapore.
