Tainted Beauty: Chang Lei Solo Exhibition

Chang Lei, Civilization - Qing Yi no. 18, 160 x 120 cm, Oil on Canvas

Established Chinese contemporary artist Chang Lei’s latest series of oil paintings, The Sanguinary Shadows of Chinese Civilization, depicts traditional Chinese cultural figures, objects and sites, infused with splashes of bright and dark colours.

Charming and breathtaking they disclose a tainted beauty, revealing Chang Lei’s ability of accomplishing the artist’s mission: to explore both hell and paradise at the same time.
