A travelling exhibition and shop from Japan, TAKO LABO is a vibrant and colourful showcase of Japanese graphic artist TAKORA Kimiyoshi Futori’s love for pop pattern graphics.
Inspired by the unlimited narrative potential that pattern graphics possess, TAKORA will be presenting seven patterns, brought to life through a range of textiles which are silkscreened by hand. A capsule collection of TAKO LABO dresses, designed by AKIKO HAMADA (NINP), will also make its debut in Singapore. In addition to these one-of-a-kind dresses, K+ TAKO LABO will feature fabric items and accessories which hope to add a little ‘pop’ to our everyday.
Workshop: TAKORA will also be hosting a craft workshop on 29 July, Saturday (1pm – 2pm). Participants will learn how to make a chic fabric corsage using offcuts from his hand-dyed TAKO LABO fabric, which will be flown in from Japan. The session is $85 and limited to only 10 participants. All materials will be provided. Registration can be done HERE.
