Culture permeates the design of many things we interact with every day. The languages we write and speak, the visual cues and symbols, and the sense of aesthetic, influence the way various objects and experiences take shape.
As we usher in the Lunar New Year, we invite three Singaporean designers to share how Chinese culture and heritage influences their contemporary communications designs. Come listen to the sharing by Yao Yu, founder of traditional letterpress studio Typesettingsg; Jonathan Yuen, founder and creative director of interdisciplinary graphic design studio ROOTS; and James Teo, founder and creative director of Ampulets, a graphic and communications design studio. Hear them unpack the philosophies and cultural sensibilities embedded within their work.
